About the Role & Our Client

On behalf of our client, a leading global manufacturing company specializing in metal packaging solutions, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to support the organization's financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Record daily financial transactions accurately in the ERP/accounting system.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation.
• Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.

Cash & Treasury Management

• Maintain petty cash and ensure timely replenishment.
• Prepare payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, and other financial documentation.
• Monitor cash balances and support treasury activities.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
• Maintain proper filing of financial records and ensure adherence to company financial policies and internal controls.

Financial Support

• Assist in payroll accounting and statutory deductions.
• Monitor budget utilization and report significant variances.
• Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience using ERP systems or accounting software such as Peachtree is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
